Chaouki Chamoun :

The beauty of travel reflected in bold art
Chaouki Chamoun fills the canvas with an agitated surface of scribbles. Then suddenly, he shifts mood and blocks off within a small isolated frame the sure shapes and colors of a figurative landscape scene. In others that appear abstract, he combines the spontaneity of action painting with lines of determined control.
In many of the paintings a provocative combination of chaos and order-a characteristic one could readily perceive as an audible echo of the Lebanese-American dichotomy currently directing Chamoun's art.
